YILPORT Taranto, operating from the San Cataldo
Container Terminal, has recently inaugurated a new Ro-Ro (Roll-on/Roll-off)
service dedicated to exporting cars to Algeria. This new service commenced with
the arrival of a vessel from ErkPort, a well-established stevedoring and Logistics
Company based in Izmir, which successfully delivered 830 vehicles to the
terminal. The introduction of this Ro-Ro service marks a significant
development for the port, as it enhances its capabilities in handling
automotive exports. This initiative not only increases the volume of cargo
traffic but also positions Taranto as a vital hub for automotive logistics in
the Mediterranean region. The ability to transport vehicles directly to Algeria
facilitates smoother trade operations and strengthens economic ties between
Italy and North Africa. Moreover, this service is expected to benefit local
businesses in the automotive sector, providing them with greater access to
international markets. It opens up new opportunities for collaboration and
growth, potentially leading to job creation and an overall boost to the
regional economy. As YILPORT Taranto continues to expand its services, it
reinforces its commitment to enhancing trade and connectivity in the area.
