Trust, in collaboration with the State and District Administration, hosted a
key meeting aimed at developing Visakhapatnam as a premier destination for
international cruise tourists. The event brought together prominent tour
operators and travel companies to discuss strategies for crafting a compelling
tourism circuit in and around the city. During the meeting, which took place on
Tuesday, representatives from the Visakhapatnam Port Authority presented the
government's vision to elevate cruise tourism and showcased the advanced
facilities at the Visakhapatnam International Cruise Terminal. They highlighted
the city’s unique appeal, with its rich cultural heritage and stunning natural
beauty, positioning it as an attractive stop for international cruise liners.
Tour and travel operators offered valuable feedback on local attractions and
shared ideas to enhance the overall tourist experience. The goal was to develop
an engaging and comprehensive tourism package that not only draws visitors but
also boosts the local economy. The meeting ended on a positive note, with all
attendees, including Sri Srinivas, Regional Director of Andhra Pradesh Tourism,
port officials, and private tourism operators, committing to work together.
