Universal Africa Lines (UAL) is expanding its new office in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Universal Africa Lines (UAL) is launching a direct liner service from Houston to Trinidad, Guyana, Suriname, and Brazil, supported by vessels traveling between the US Gulf and West Africa with several sailings each month. To lead this expansion in Brazil, Renato Couto has been appointed as the new Director. They are thrilled to have Mr. Renato Couto on board; he’s a well-respected industry leader in Brazil, and they believe he’ll help us build on our success said Harald Maas, Managing Director of UAL. UAL's modern multipurpose vessels can handle heavy lifts of up to 360 metric tonnes, catering to the growing demand from the Brazilian market, which prompted the establishment of the new office in Rio de Janeiro to improve service. Maas highlighted, the success of our Latin America Service has shown us that we need to deepen our presence in this region. The new office in Brazil is a direct response to that demand. Our rapid growth indicates a real need for our dependable services, and the direct link between the Americas and West Africa adds significant value for our clients. Couto added, “It’s worth noting that UAL has been a strong player in West Africa for over 51 years and has been connecting with Brazil for many years. Now, we’re expanding that service to include regular routes between Brazil and destinations like Suriname, Guyana, Trinidad, and other Caribbean locations, as well as Africa.
