Indian Port has received 29 new proposals of worth around Rs3,300 Crore from Andhra Pradesh that covers various projects including the development of Port and Coastal Berths. The projects also include Ro-Pax and passenger jetties, fishing harbors, port modernization and skill development. The Ministry had already sanctioned around Rs450 crore for development of these projects. According to the ministry Vishakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA) and Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) have undertaken 36 projects in Andhra Pradesh with a investment around Rs4,600 Crore. Among these, 22 projects worth Rs2,530 crore have been completed while the other 14 projects worth around Rs2,070 Crore are in the stage of implementation.
