Luis Rodriguez, the president of the Port Authority
of Alicante, has proudly inaugurated the port's first G-One mega battery, a
7-megawatt energy storage system supplied by GDV. This installation is part of
a broader initiative that includes two additional mega batteries planned for
the port, collectively aimed at enhancing energy efficiency and sustainability.
The G-One mega battery will provide a reliable power source for various port
facilities, essential infrastructure, and docked ships, significantly reducing
reliance on traditional energy sources. This innovative solution is expected to
not only lower emissions but also improve the overall operational efficiency of
the port. The Port Authority of Alicante sees this development as a crucial
step in its commitment to advancing sustainable practices in maritime
operations. By integrating such cutting-edge energy technology, the port aims
to position itself as a leader in eco-friendly solutions, contributing to a
greener future for both the port and the surrounding community.
