On September 24, 2024, CINEA launched the 2024 calls for proposals under the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) for Transport, allocating €2.5 billion to support the construction and modernization of transport infrastructure across the European Union and the associated countries of Ukraine and Moldova. This funding aims to enhance connectivity within the trans-European transport network (TEN-T), which is crucial for improving mobility, boosting economic growth, and promoting sustainability. The projects eligible for funding will focus on extending and upgrading key transport corridors, improving efficiency, and integrating various modes of transport. By investing in these infrastructure developments, the initiative seeks to address current challenges in transportation, enhance cross-border connections, and ultimately contribute to a more integrated and resilient European transport system.
