The budget for the new cruise terminal in Venice
has been raised by 27.5 million euros, increasing the total investment to over
87.5 million euros. This additional funding is essential for the adaptation of
the bank of the ‘Voltatesta,’ which involves significant engineering work to ensure
structural integrity and support the terminal's operations. These enhancements
include reinforcing the waterfront, improving access for both passengers and
vessels, and upgrading facilities to better accommodate modern cruise ships.
The decision to allocate more resources demonstrates a commitment to not only
boosting tourism but also ensuring that the terminal meets environmental and
safety standards. This investment aims to create a world-class facility that
can handle the increasing volume of cruise traffic while preserving the
cultural and historical significance of Venice.
