Severe storms in the Black Sea region have led to significant disruptions in crude oil shipments at Russia's Black Sea port of Novorossiisk. Initial estimates suggest that approximately 1.2 million metric tons out of the scheduled 2.34 million tons of crude for export and transit in November were impacted. The port briefly reopened on Thursday as the storm conditions eased but was suspended again on Friday. The disruptions, attributed to adverse weather conditions, have also affected oil exports from Kazakhstan. Novorossiisk plays a crucial role in handling Russian Urals and Siberian Light crudes, as well as transit volumes of Kazakh KEBCO crude.
