The Port of Savannah's Garden City Terminal experienced a substantial increase with 129 container ship calls in October, marking a 26% rise compared to the same month in 2022. With all berths open for the first time in two and a half years, the terminal handled 449,000 twenty-foot equivalent container units, making it the fourth-busiest October ever and a 5% increase from October 2019. Despite a decrease in TEUs for the fiscal year to date, the port showcased robust performance, particularly in Roll-on/Roll-off cargo, with a record 67,500 units of autos and machinery handled in October.
