The Port of Heraklion, situated on the Greek island of Crete in the Mediterranean Sea, has been awarded the EcoPorts PERS (Port Environmental Review System) certification. This certification, issued by the European Sea Ports Organisation (ESPO), is the only environmental management standard designed exclusively for the port industry.
