The Gothenburg Port Authority has enlisted the expertise of Swedish construction company Peab for the first phase of the monumental Kustkajen 2.0 project. This ambitious initiative involves a comprehensive overhaul of the 300-meter-long quay at the heart of the Port of Gothenburg Energy Port. The project aims to fortify the port's position as Scandinavia's premier hub for renewable energy. Kustkajen 2.0 will see geotechnical enhancements, new foundations, and the demolition and reconstruction of the quay. Despite the extensive renovations, ongoing port operations will persist with minimal disruptions. The project signifies a significant step towards supporting Sweden's transition to renewable fuels, with construction set to commence in Q1 2026 and conclude in Q1 2031. Peab, drawing on its local expertise and extensive experience, expresses pride in contributing to the visionary development of the Port of Gothenburg.
