Maritime Single Window Project Successfully Concludes with Handover at Port of Lobito, Angola

The Single Window for Facilitation of Trade (SWiFT) project, a strategic partnership between the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and Singapore, has concluded with the handover of a newly developed Maritime Single Window (MSW) platform to the Port of Lobito in Angola. The digital system enables streamlined submission of required information through a single online portal, ensuring efficient clearance of ships during port calls. As of January 1, 2024, Maritime Single Windows will be mandatory worldwide, aligning with the shipping industry's digitalization and decarbonization goals. The SWiFT project, supported by Singapore and IMO, aims to assist medium-sized ports in establishing secure digital interconnectivity to meet international obligations. The successful initiative builds on the lessons learned from a similar project in Antigua and Barbuda in 2019.
