MAN Energy Solutions has entered into an agreement with Alfa Laval to develop a methanol fuel-supply solution for MAN four-stroke engines and its fuel-injection technology. This collaboration aims to make retrofitting to methanol operation possible for the first four-stroke engine types by 2025. Alfa Laval will provide the low-flashpoint fuel-supply system (LFSS), control system, fuel-valve train, and auxiliary functions. The project builds on their successful 2014 collaboration that resulted in the first methanol solution for two-stroke marine engines.
