On January 25, a fire erupted in the engine room of the oil/chemical tanker KRITI CAPTAIN while it was moored at PORT-LA-NOUVELLE Anchorage in France. Local firefighters quickly arrived at the scene and managed to extinguish the blaze without any reported injuries or significant environmental damage. The vessel, which is currently under observation with tugboats present, is a Liberian-flagged tanker built in 2007, measuring 184 meters in length and 27 meters in breadth.
