In a recent video call, Deputy Minister Edoardo
Rixi of Italy and Hungary’s Levente Magyar, the Deputy Minister for Foreign
Affairs and Trade, engaged in an in-depth discussion about the future of the
Adria Port Terminal. A key focus of their conversation was the significant
Hungarian investment planned for the Port of Trieste, particularly the
development of a new terminal that aims to modernize the port's infrastructure.
Rixi elaborated on the strategic importance of the Port of Trieste as a vital
logistics hub in the Adriatic Sea, highlighting how the new terminal will not
only enhance capacity but also facilitate smoother operations and reduce
turnaround times for cargo. He emphasized the potential for this project to
attract further investments and increase the competitiveness of the port in the
broader Mediterranean shipping landscape. Magyar responded positively,
outlining Hungary's commitment to strengthening economic ties with Italy
through this investment. He discussed the potential benefits of the terminal,
such as improved trade efficiency, enhanced connectivity to Central and Eastern
Europe, and the creation of local jobs, which would support regional economic
growth. Both ministers expressed their enthusiasm for the collaborative
opportunities this project presents, including joint initiatives in logistics,
infrastructure development, and environmental sustainability. They concluded
the call by reaffirming their commitment to ongoing dialogue and cooperation,
recognizing that successful implementation of the terminal could serve as a
model for future investments and partnerships in the region.
