India's Tuticorin Port Plans 500-Acre Green Hydrogen Hub

The VO Chidambaranar Port Authority in Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu, has allocated 500 acres for a green hydrogen hub and signed an MoU with NGEL for a green hydrogen production facility. A proposal for infrastructure development for green hydrogen projects has been submitted to MNRE, and the port expects investments of ₹100,000 crore. The port has leased 224 acres to ACME Cleantech Solutions for green hydrogen and ammonia generation, with investments anticipated to exceed ₹52,000 crore. Other ports, including Kandla, are also setting up green hydrogen facilities.
