Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) has done an outstanding performance in
July 2024 by handling 37.3 million metric tons of cargo and also marking a 9.5%
increase from the previous year. A major factor behind this growth was the
container segment, which experienced an impressive 18% increase compared to the
previous year. In the first four months of the financial year, APSEZ handled a
total of 146.3 million metric tons of cargo, marking an 8% increase compared to
the same period last year. The growth was largely driven by containers and
liquids & gas, with containers jumping 18% and liquids & gas increasing
by 9%. A standout achievement was Dhamra Port, which reached its highest-ever
monthly cargo volume of 4.6 million metric tons. In logistics, APSEZ enjoyed strong
growth, with rail volumes rising 17% to 0.21 million TEUs and GPWIS volumes
jumping 28% to 7.42 million metric tons. This impressive performance showcases
how APSEZ is expanding its reach and boosting operational efficiency across its
ports and logistics networks.
