Hutchison Ports ECT Rotterdam to adopt old ironing.

Hutchison Ports ECT Rotterdam has entered into a contract with Rotterdam Shore Power (RSP) to develop and operate shore power facilities, commonly referred to as cold ironing. These facilities are scheduled to start operating in 2028, with full implementation across two terminals expected by 2030. The introduction of shore power aims to significantly reduce emissions from ships while they are docked, as they will be able to switch from on-board diesel generators to cleaner, shore-based electricity. This initiative is part of a broader effort to enhance environmental sustainability in the port operations and contribute to reducing overall port emissions.
