Danish shipper DFDS is set to begin a Ro-Ro (roll-on, roll-off) service between Trieste and Damietta, Egypt, starting in November. This new route will provide a vital link for transporting goods between Italy and Egypt, catering to growing trade demands in the region. The service will initially operate with one ship, docking at the Ro-Ro terminal in the Friuli Venezia Giulia port in Trieste. This terminal is well-equipped to handle various cargo, making it an ideal starting point for shipments to and from Damietta.
