Romania's Black Sea port of Constanta has set a record by shipping 29.4 million metric tons of grain in the first ten months of this year, with 40% of the supply coming from Ukraine. Constanta has become a crucial export route for Ukraine, especially since Russia's invasion last year. Despite facing challenges, including Russian strikes on Ukrainian river ports and border crossing restrictions, the port handled 11.7 million tons of grain during January-October. The Romanian government aims to double the monthly transit capacity for Ukrainian grain to 4 million tons, with ongoing investments in infrastructure and increased loading speeds. This achievement reflects Constanta's growing significance in facilitating grain exports for Ukraine and neighboring countries.
