China's Export Container Shipping Prices Rise in December 2023

China's export container shipping prices saw a 2.3% month-on-month increase in December 2023, as per data from the Shanghai Shipping Exchange. The average China Containerized Freight Index (CCFI) reached 874.88 last month. The growth was led by a 6.8% month-on-month increase in the Europe service sub-reading, followed by a 5.6% climb in the Australia/New Zealand service. However, the figure for the West Africa service declined by 6% on a monthly basis. The CCFI monitors spot and contractual freight rates from Chinese container ports across 12 global shipping routes.
