Bandar Port to be completed by end of 2025.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu announced on Wednesday that he aims to complete the Bandar Port works by December 2025. During a review of the port’s progress in Machilipatnam, he urged officials to speed up the construction. Naidu revealed that an additional 38.32 acres of land needed for the port will be allocated soon. He criticized the previous YSRCP government for the lack of progress on the project, which has an estimated cost of Rs 3,669 crore. If the ongoing work is completed, the first four berths will be operational, with plans for up to 16 berths in total, according to the master plan. Naidu emphasized that the completed port would significantly boost the development of Machilipatnam, located near the capital city of Amaravati. He also pledged to improve road connectivity, establish a police training center, and ensure a reliable water supply for the area. Naidu highlighted that converting the port into a container port would benefit neighbouring states like Telangana. Reflecting on the long history of agitation for the Bandar Port, he noted that he initiated the project based on its importance, while criticizing the current government for neglecting it. "I will definitely continue the ongoing works and attract more industries to this area," he stated, adding that clarity regarding BPCL's involvement will be available soon. Additionally, he mentioned that action would be taken against the local YSRCP party office built on state police land once all the details are reviewed.
