Adani Ports is set to sell its 49% stake in one of its group companies.

The Adani Ennore Container Terminal (AECT), situated at Kamarajar Port in Ennore, 30 km north of Chennai Port, is a modern and strategically positioned box terminal. This facility handles a diverse range of cargo types and is equipped with advanced infrastructure to support its operations. Currently, AECT has an annual capacity of 0.8 million TEUs (Twenty-foot Equivalent Units), with the potential to expand this capacity to 1.4 million TEUs annually to meet growing demand. The terminal benefits from its strategic location, offering 24/7 access via congestion-free roads, which facilitates smooth cargo movement. Additionally, it features on-dock rail siding services that connect directly to Bengaluru, providing efficient transportation options to the deep hinterland. AECT is also well-integrated with Chennai's primary hinterland through connections to all Container Freight Stations (CFSs) and four major National Highways, enhancing its connectivity and logistical efficiency. Moreover, AECT has recently formed a partnership with Mundi, an indirect subsidiary of TiL and an associate of Mediterranean Shipping Company. This collaboration is expected to further strengthen the terminal's operations and expand its network, reinforcing its position as a key player in the region's cargo handling and logistics sector.
