The feasibility study for transforming it into a major harbor is underway. The strategic location aims to reduce travel time between major ports in Andaman and Kolkata significantly. Once operational, the hub is expected to enhance economic benefits for India and neighboring countries. Additionally, the southernmost tip of India, Indira Point, is slated for development as a major tourism destination. The proposed developments align with the Maritime India Vision 2030, focusing on job creation, tourism promotion, and export initiatives in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
