The Sea Cargo Charter (SCC) is adapting its reporting trajectory in response to the International Maritime Organization’s (IMO) revised greenhouse gas (GHG) strategy. This move aligns SCC's goals with the IMO's ambition to achieve net-zero GHG emissions in the shipping sector by around 2050. The SCC, with 37 signatories representing over 17% of total bulk cargo transported annually, aims to enhance data sharing, transparency, and accountability across the maritime supply chain. Additionally, SCC is expanding its membership scope to include shipowners, fostering inclusivity and sustainability practices.
