Maersk Supply Service and A.P. Moller–Maersk have pledged continued support to non-profit organization The Ocean Cleanup as it works towards validating a system for collecting plastic from the world's oceans. The collaboration, extending until the end of 2024, involves providing maritime capabilities, vessels, project management, and logistics services. Once validated, The Ocean Cleanup aims to garner public and governmental support to significantly scale up its plastic cleanup operations starting in 2025. The partnership emphasizes the urgency of addressing plastic pollution, one of the most pressing environmental challenges.
