The Union Minister of Ports, Shipping & Waterways and Ayush, Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, recently chaired a mid-term review meeting to assess the progress of India's ambitious 'PM Maritime Amritkaal Vision' aimed at making the country a global maritime leader by 2047. The meeting covered key programs, including the flagship Sagarmala initiative, and emphasized the need for a comprehensive approach to achieve the goals outlined in the vision document. Notable achievements, such as the success of the Global Maritime India Summit 2023 with a significant investment of ₹10 trillion, were highlighted. The review also focused on the development of green initiatives, major port projects, and the increasing number of Indian seafarers. The meeting concluded with a roadmap for enhanced performance and successful execution of maritime goals.
