The Seaport of Long Beach is the Second busiest container port in the United States. The Port is located less than two miles southwest of Downtown and approximately 25 miles south of Downtown Los Angeles. The Port was started in the year 1911. The Ports major Imports Include bulk petroleum, steel, electric machinery and parts, electronic goods, plastics, clothing, furniture, vehicles, newsprint and food. And Exports Include bulk petroleum, petroleum coke, chemicals, cotton, plastic and rubber products, waste paper, scrap metal and food. Approx 5,000 vessels, 76,600,000t of cargo and 6,100,000TEU handled annually.
