About Us

Founded in 1999 by brothers Shaw and Tom Matthews, Matthews Brothers began with a vision to operate a marine construction company with a personal yet professional touch. Influenced by our family’s maritime experience, we decided to combine our own marine skills and open a marine construction company. We started by providing general crane barge services along the Mississippi Gulf Coast. With an early focus on mechanical dredging, we built equipment and developed techniques and capabilities unmatched in the marketplace. Over the past 20 years we have rebuilt the best of “old world” equipment combined with new construction and other late model equipment.  In addition we utilize the latest technology in dredge positioning and hydrographic surveying. Our most basic operating premise and key to success is the hands-on approach that we as owners take to every project. This ensures operation at the highest level of safety and efficiency attaining the goal of customer satisfaction.
