About Us

Knudsen Suppliers has its roots back to 1882. It all started when Captain Didrik Andreas Knudsen entered Lisbon with his Norwegian ship, the Professor Mohr.
While in port, his shipchandler Mr. Terry - an Englishman with whom the Capitan was well acquainted - passed away and Capitan Knudsen was requested to assist Mr. Terry's business, the result of which led to the founding of a company under the name of "Knudsen & Terry" in December 1882.
By 1895 Company's name was changed to D.A Knudsen due to expanded activities including Agency of Ships, Stevedoring and Average Agents.
When Simon Knudsen, Capitan Knudsen's son-in-law joined this firm as a partner in 1902 the style was changed again, to "D.A. Knudsen & Co."
