Bominflot started out in 1976 as a German-Russian joint venture, supplying bunkers, lubricants and spare parts to the former Soviet fleet, under contracts with Soviet shipping companies centrally-organized through the Ministry of Merchant Marine („Morflot“). Bomin has been active in the bunker business for more than 40 years.
